Aurum Foundation Presents
Living into Dying
Helping our Loved Ones at the Threshold of Death

A Spring 2006 conference guided by Elizabeth Knox
founder and executive director of Crossings: Caring for Our Own at Death
Though death is the one certainty in life we can count on, we often postpone considerations of how we might want to be there for loved ones at this threshold till the last minute. This conference gives an opportunity to consider a spiritual view of dying and the issues around being there for others, including how to actually care for loved ones both before and after death at home, a choice most people don't know they have. Legal and practical matters will be included in presentations that are accessible, supportive, and give empowerment, confidence, and hope for the inevitable transitions in our lives.
-- Nancy Jewel Poer
For most of us, death is something handled by a funeral home. Are there other options for those who wish to engage more personally in the process of caring for a loved one at the threshold of death?
The Aurum Foundation has invited Elizabeth Knox, founder and executive director of Crossings: Caring for Our Own at Death, to address such questions. She came to home funeral care through personal loss and has since assisted hundreds of individuals to be present to the grief and love and wonder of a home funeral.
